Fun at the Park

Today we had a great afternoon with the kids. To start, we took the kids to Cool Cuts for Kids to get their hair cut. They were both looking a little shaggy (ok a lot shaggy) and needed the excess hair taken off and the bangs cut down. This haircut they both really cooperated, sitting in the chair without crying, fighting, or complaining. I was so proud of them! And they were both pleased by the end results of a nice haircut.

Then we went to the park as a family, which was quite fun. Evan walked around on his own and also had a blast walking back and forth through the tunnel making noises while inside. I think he liked the way his voice echoed when he was in the middle of the tunnel. He also did a little climbing on the playground and I took him on the slide and pushed him in the swings.

Taylor and Travis brought their dump trucks to the park and played in the mulch. At one point, Taylor gave Corey a handful of leaves, which he threw at me. This led to Taylor scolding him for throwing mulch and placing him in time out. She told him, "We don't throw mulch! Go to Time Out!" It was super cute. She made him tell me he was sorry and come give me a hug. She also told him to go use the potty, which made us wonder if she'd ever take her own advice.

That is definitely something we've been struggling with lately - potty training Taylor. She seems to be completely opposed to pooping in the potty. She always does so in her underwear and she still has a lot of pee pee accidents. She will occasionally tell you she needs to go, and she'll go sometimes if you push, but always pee. We are frustrated, because she doesn't seem to WANT to potty train either. She knows where she is supposed to go and she'll tell us she's supposed to pee-pee and poo-poo in the potty, but then she tells us she wants pull-ups. She likes her underwear though, but I suppose that's not enough. Anyway, we're still working on that.

As for Evan, he's two weeks away from his first birthday. He is walking very well, inside and outside, with and without shoes. He can also stand up unassisted (without using something to pull himself up with). He's eating all people food, even though he still only has two teeth. And he's really starting to play a lot with toys and such.

Aww, I need to see the haircuts! Take a picture, considering tomorrow I won't see them either. Also, Ev in the tunnel sounds super cute!
